Recognizing heat distortion, crazing, and stress cracking.
Correct RPM ranges and surface temperature control (<95 °F).
Masking and contamination prevention near seals and paint.

2️⃣ Hands-On Restoration

Under Brett’s instruction, students train on both curved and flat acrylic panels — learning how to:

Level scratches progressively with 1000–4000-grit or Micro-Mesh abrasives.
Use dual-action polishers for clarity restoration.
Evaluate optical distortion with reflection-line testing.
Achieve that crystal-clear, mirror-smooth finish without altering optical geometry.

The facility is equipped with full-scale drum buffers and OEM-spec compounds, exposing students to equipment rarely available outside certified shops.

3️⃣ Inspection & Certification

Each technician completes a practical evaluation:

Optical clarity inspection under cross-light.
Temperature-control technique verification.
Documentation of the restoration process and AMM compliance.

Upon completion, technicians receive official Shiny Jets Certification in Acrylic Aircraft Window Restoration — proof of proficiency, professionalism, and precision.
