The JetGlow Treatment: A Full Transformation of a Hawker 800

Updated: Jan 25

A hawker 800 in the hangar

At JetGlow Aviation, we don’t believe in “good enough.” When a Hawker 800 comes into our care, it gets "The JetGlow" our most comprehensive exterior condition management package, designed to restore, protect, and elevate every visible surface of the aircraft. This aircraft didn’t just get cleaned. It was reset to a higher standard.

What follows is a behind-the-scenes look at how we brought this Hawker 800 back to life using a meticulous, aviation-specific process and premium products trusted at the highest levels of the industry.

Step One: Precision Cleaning With Fly Shiny Products

Every JetGlow project starts with a deep, methodical clean. For this Hawker 800, we relied heavily on professional-grade solutions from Fly Shiny products specifically engineered for aircraft materials, finishes, and environmental exposure.

Our process safely removed:

  • Embedded ramp grime

  • Exhaust and oil residue

  • Environmental fallout and oxidation buildup

This step is critical. You cannot polish or protect what hasn’t been properly prepared. Clean surfaces reveal the true condition of the paint, metal, and glass and set the foundation for everything that follows.

Embedded sand doesn’t just dull the finish—it slowly eats away at it. On this Hawker 800, we uncovered abrasive sand packed into the nose wheel gear door, acting like sandpaper every time the aircraft moves. Identifying and removing contamination like this is a critical part of The JetGlow process, protecting paint, structure, and long-term finish integrity.

Before any protection could be applied, the paint itself had to be corrected. On this Hawker 800, the next part of the first step of The JetGlow process was a full paint polish designed to restore clarity, depth, and uniformity across the entire airframe.

Over time, even well-maintained aircraft develop:

  • Light oxidation and chalking

  • Micro-scratches from washing and environmental exposure

  • Dull or uneven gloss, especially on horizontal surfaces

Using a controlled, multi-stage polishing process, we carefully leveled the paint surface without removing unnecessary material. This step is critical, not for shine alone, but to reset the paint to a healthy, receptive state before cleaning and coating.

Polishing accomplishes three essential goals:

  1. Removes surface defects that trap contaminants and dull reflection

  2. Restores optical clarity, giving the paint true depth and color richness

  3. Ensures proper bonding of ceramic coatings like System X Max G+

Skipping this step would mean sealing in flaws. At JetGlow, we don’t do that. Paint polishing is the foundation that allows every step after it, cleaning, coating, and long-term protection to perform at its highest level.

Chris Hibben, owner of JetGlow Aviation, uses a 5-inch DA polisher to precisely correct the paint on this Hawker 800, removing oxidation and fine defects to restore depth, clarity, and a flawless foundation before long-term protection is applied.

Step Two: Ceramic Protection With System X Max G+

Once the aircraft was fully prepped, we applied System X Max G+, a professional ceramic coating engineered for aviation use.

This coating delivers:

  • Extreme hydrophobic performance

  • Long-term UV and oxidation resistance

  • Easier cleaning and reduced chemical exposure

  • A deep, reflective gloss that elevates ramp presence

The result is not just shine, it’s durable, long-term surface protection that preserves paint integrity and reduces ongoing maintenance costs. This Hawker now repels contaminants instead of absorbing them, staying cleaner longer between washes.

Step Three: Brightwork That Truly Glows

Hawker brightwork is iconic, but only when it’s done right.

For this aircraft, we used a precision blend of compounds and polishes from Nuvite and Fly Shiny, allowing us to tailor each step to the specific condition of the metal.

Our brightwork process restored:

  • Mirror-like reflectivity

  • Uniform clarity across all polished surfaces

  • Depth and brilliance without over-aggressive cutting

The end result? Brightwork that doesn’t just look good up close, it commands attention from across the ramp.

Before and after brightwork restoration on this Hawker 800, oxidized, dull metal transformed into a deep, mirror-like finish through a precision polishing process that brings the aircraft’s signature brightwork back to life.

Step Four: Window Polishing, Inside and Out

Windows are one of the most overlooked and most critical elements of aircraft aesthetics and safety. On this Hawker 800, we performed full interior and exterior window polishing, eliminating years of accumulated wear.

This process removed:

  • Fine scratches and swirl marks

  • Haze caused by improper cleaning

  • Visual distortion and glare

The improvement was immediate. From the cockpit and cabin, visibility is dramatically clearer, reducing eye strain and enhancing both safety and passenger experience. From the outside, the windows now match the rest of the aircraft clean, crisp, and distortion-free.

A finished JetGlow Hawker 800
Finished to the JetGlow Standard, this Hawker 800 leaves the ramp fully restored, protected, and dialed in, with deep gloss paint, glowing brightwork, and crystal-clear windows that reflect the level of care it deserves.

The Final Result: What “The JetGlow” Really Means

When this Hawker 800 rolled off the ramp, it wasn’t just polished, t was transformed.

  • Deep, protected paint with a decade-rated ceramic coating

  • Brilliant, show-quality brightwork

  • Crystal-clear windows inside and out

  • Reduced maintenance effort moving forward

This is what The JetGlow package delivers: restoration, protection, and pride of ownership, executed to a standard that matches the caliber of the aircraft itself.

You’ve invested in a world-class aircraft. The care it receives should match that investment.

Whether you operate a Hawker 800, light jet, turboprop, or piston aircraft, The JetGlow package is designed to restore, protect, and preserve your aircraft at the highest level. Fewer washes. Longer-lasting results. A jet that looks as good years from now as it does today.
